Escaping threshold
"The idea that you have to 'find something that you're passionate about' and do it for a living is, often, a dangerous myth." - Charlie StephenI am sure, you all would have heard someday and somebody talking about passion and following it to earn living. Let me tell you, this advice is a full piece of shit. Do you know why you always get convinced with this thought, because you are the one who's doing miserably bad in his/her life and at the same time your career goals are also fumbling hard. Every time you think about it, you feel crestfallen because you aren't able to find out an ideal career goal neither you know what to do nor you persist any sort of skillset or talent which could help you anyhow. So the actual problem begins what should we do? But nobody got the answer. You searched it on google, asked your neighbors, your elders, your best buddies but you didn't get the solution and you are stuck here now. As you are moving forward in life and getting the touch of reality and brutality of life, your dreams have started shattering day by day, but you still hope for something good. So my friend you are in the right place.
Okay, now no extra talk. Let me give you an example and I will ask you some questions in the mid. So think if Sachin Tendulkar knew it before, that he will be scoring a hundred centuries, then he would have even joined school or would even be bothered about failing in 10th standard. The answer is no. Let's check another side if his parents forced him to study till 12th, then I don't think he will be called as "God of Cricket". But no apart from everything, Sachin Tendulkar is what we see him today, a successful former Indian cricketer. At that time there was no one to tell Sachin what should he do in his life. But can you believe Sachin wasn't always a good batsman in his initial day of cricket, but what made him outstanding was his unshakable determination. He would have also felt bad sometimes, the need to quit, the need to leave everything, but no, he didn't quit.
The idea here is not to say that don't follow your passion, but it is solely about doing what needs to be done. We flicker here and there in search of what is right to do, but it's not the best idea to work upon. I can justify this statement also, do you remember when last time you started doing something new and quit it when it became difficult to handle it. Even most of us (approx: 90%) do the same. We start things very voraciously, but after going to a certain depth in it, we feel the need the quit and then we are left perplexed. This habit of trying out new things and quitting them in between creates a pattern in our life which acts like glasses which shows us what it wants to show, because of our negative perception. This happens again and again, and we think that why do all the bad things happens to me only, but hey dude listen you are the only one who is inviting them repeatedly.
I hope that till now you would have understood the context I am talking about. So now comes the solution part. Everyone has certain sets of strength, the one you are passionate about is also one of your greatest strength, but it doesn't work in that way. So follow the following steps:
- What you think of your future, means what are those things that give you happiness?
- What is actually required to be done, to attain them?
- How much you have to put in it to carry out the results?
- Is it feasible?
So, make the chain of the above four questions and start analyzing things and remember do not start working on them, till you attain the clarity of mindset. The most important advice is, don't shoot randomly because the more you quit the more you lose. And the last thing when you again feel the need to quit, just pause for a moment and think if it would be so much easier to achieve than everybody else with the same dream would have already reached that goal.
Because you know that every CSE engineer is not a software developer.
Just wait and do things accordingly and when you'll look back again, you will definitely have escaped the trap, because it's most difficult to escape the threshold but after that things comes to your way on their own.
***All the best***
